In cooperation with the Consent Working Group of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII), the TMF provides sample texts for the patient consent declaration for the MII sites. This MII Broad Consent has been extensively coordinated with the responsible data protection authorities at national level.
These sample texts are available in different versions and languages on the MII website.
Version 1.7.2 of the MII Broad Consent includes the modules “retrospective data” and “third countries”. This version of the MII Broad Consent has been approved by the National Steering Committee for use in the MII, but has not yet been agreed with other stakeholders (e.g. data protection authorities, ethics committees).
The MII “Consent implementation” task force is responsible for the technical mapping of the sample texts. The Consent Policies proposed by the task force were presented to the Consent Working Group in September 2023 and finally agreed. The directly importable consent template for MII Broad Consent v.1.7.2 is now available for download for all sites that use the consent management system gICS.
In order to be able to take the MII Broad Consent v1.7.2 into account in revocation processes with gICS, a compatible revocation template is also required. This is currently being created.
