Selected research projects and a large number of MII sites in Germany are already using gICS to manage consents and revocations. gICS® has an FHIR facade (TTP-FHIR Gateway) to provide consent content and consent statuses via FHIR endpoint in accordance with the specifications of the HL7 Germany Working Group for Consent Management. Since May 2023, gICS is also compatible with the MII core data set Consent by supporting the search for FHIR Consent resources according to the specifications of the MII Taskforce ‘Consent Implementation’ with regard to search parameters to be used (interface) and required profile specifications of the core data set Consent (format).

The gICS implementation guide is available here from the opening of the voting procedure and describes how the necessary functional operations for the realization of selected gICS functionalities based on HL7 FHIR were technically mapped. The required FHIR operations, profiles, extensions and terminologies have been continuously developed since 2021 in the form of the TTP-FHIR Gateway and have already been published.

We are now asking for comments on the implementation guide to further optimize the FHIR interface of the gICS. The voting procedure is based on the voting rules of HL7 Germany. It is an informative procedure (“for comment”).

An informal email as registration for the voting procedure by Dec. 10, 2023 with the subject “Registration for voting procedure” to kontakt-ths@uni-greifswald.de is required. Comments must be submitted in the form of issues in the public GitHub repository of the University Medicine Greifswald Trust Office.

The voting process starts on December 11, 2023 and closes on January 21, 2024.

We look forward to the support of our users.
